About us
When we started this website we were a family of four living at home. Since then both of our children have gone to university, though we were back to four during the Covid lockdowns.
When our eldest was born we became more aware of food quality and the environmental impacts of living. This started a long journey looking at not only how our food tasted but also how it was grown and what was in it, and how far and by what means it travelled to our table.
The environmental costs of how we live are important, but in todays world of spiralling financial costs it is often more pressing just to keep costs down to survive. Some of our projects have been expensive to set up, but many are inexpensive or no cost. We will give ideas of costs and savings where we can.
Along the journey we have become aware of how the lifestyles we choose to follow not only impact our environment but have a big impact on how long we live and how healthy we are during that time. This has now become known as Lifestyle Medicine.
We have two dogs, two cats, three chickens and bees. The dogs ensure we exercise regularly and the cats keep the mouse population of the house at bay - this was a problem long before we had any other animals.
