Well much to our surprise and delight our doe who had myxomatosis has produced
5 or may be 6 apparently healthy kits. We try to be hands off until the babies venture out of the nest so as not to upset mum. Mind this mum is very relaxed and looks amazing. We really are proud that she has been through an illness, come out the other end and delivered babies the following week. It is not something we, nor anyone else, should plan for an animal, but fate conspired against us.
The three turkeys have moved again, into larger quarters where they don't have to go in at night if they don't want to. It saves my husband crawling in to the run at night to put them to bed!
We are still looking at window suppliers. One company tried to persuade me that it was worth investing in a triple glazed unit with a u value of 1.44. As double glazed units come in about 1.5 I felt this was a con. They have me a long story about u values not being the be all and end all of thermal insulation. I thanked them for their time and moved on.
The major clear out continues both in the house and garden. I was away on a course over the weekend and came home to a tidy house. I have little doubt this was at least in part due to the fact that there is less to tidy!
