We have been eating rhubarb , wild garlic, herbs, nettles and primroses from the garden with winter salad and chicory from the greenhouse.
Along side this the weeds have started to grow so the first big weeding session is in process. All the beds need cleared of weeds following the winter and it is a bit of a marathon. The nice thing is how rewarding the beds look once tidied up after the winter, and that once it is done and the gaps planted up with annuals and new perennials there won't be so many weeds to clear.
Today the weather has been superb and I have got a lot of seeds in, poppies for seeds, calendula for flowers, and snowdrops to brighten up next spring.
Sadly, I think there is rain to come tomorrow but it will help the primroses I split earlier in the week.
This year I have decided to put more effort into ensuring soil coverage and to try and create some colour schemes rather than random colours which can look really hap hazard.
