For 10 days to two weeks I have had a problem that I didn't want to admit to anyone. Our back porch had begun to smell. It all started when our youngest cat brought in a dead mouse and left it in bit under the shelves in the back porch. I scrambled under, cleared out the gruesome mess, then washed and scrubbed the floor. The mess had got as far as the skirting but I thought I had cleared it all up.
Since there has been a smell of rotten meat in the porch. I have cleaned again and again, emptied the bin like someone possessed to no avail.
I was starting to think about taking skirtings off when my son decided to borrow his sisters wellies yesterday. She doesn't wear them and he and his mate both needed wellies. He found something in one boot when he put his foot in, yes a very dead dry mouse. At last the cause if the smell. But then he up turned the wellie and out fell a dollop of maggots!!!!!!!! All over my carpet - what a boy.
Needless to say the wellies are in the bin, not Eco but hygienic, the carpet is scrubbed and my son has a great story for school on Monday!
The moral of this is check wellies before putting your feet in them:)
