Winter Veg
I had got a bit despondent last week about our winter food preparations. Coupled with this I had watched a 5 on Demand documentary on the Volcanoes of Iceland which made it feel like Armageddon was upon us. I was therefore dead chuffed to go out into the greenhouse and transplant 70+ Mizuna seedlings that I had sown last month, and a similar number of Pak Choi my Mum had inadvertently planted in my gravel path during the summer. I still have a similar number of spring onions and a few mustard to plant out. So I am not as far behind as I thought.
This does not get me away from the fact that I need to complete the final stint of the under floor insulation in the next couple of weeks before I get my hall floor sanded and sealed. As my regular readers will know this is my biggest challenge. I have found many reasons (excuses) not to get started. Gastroenteritis was a good one, no pipe insulation wasn't bad however I am now well and the insulation is here so away I go. It will be great once it is done. The house is notably warmer with the heating on this autumn so hopefully this should make further improvements. I'll let you know how I get on. I guess blog writing is another reason not to get started so I better sign off:)
