This week has been an indoor week, largely. We have had snow on the ground since Monday. So other than protecting vulnerable plants that are pushing up early because of the warmth of early January and making sure the animals are warm and fed I have been inside.
This has led to more tidying and throwing out, not that it is that obvious. I have also started taking the skirting boards off in the bathroom in preparation for the floors being lifted. The new bath and toilet pan arrived onThursday, so we now have two baths and two toilets none of which can be used!
The highlight of the week was going to a Burn's Supper at Wiston Lodge in South Lanarkshire. We have only been to one Burn's Supper before this so had little to go on. However, being Wiston the did it well. A lovely traditional meal with music and poetry and some speeches. The mix of company was excellent and a Ceildh to follow. We stayed overnight and had a lovely walk round the grounds in the crunchy snow before heading home. Great.
