I have lifted the next section of floor for insulation, taken out most of the old pipes and measured it ready for insulation next week - I hope.
Twice this week I have been able to use the bike as transport. It has been cold and bright with. We had hoped to cycle the kids to school this morning but it was a bit slippery so we walked instead.
I am still struggling with the merits of types of cavity wall insulation. One option is to have the cavities emptied and refilled this looks like a big and messy job at best and I'm not sure how much gain we would get.
My trees arrived for planting - a mulberry and two apples I am so looking forward to eating the fruit - I know I'll have a wait.
Sitting in the vets waiting room yesterday I was reading an article by Sue Roaf a Professor of environmental architecture from Oxford, and Heriot Watt Universities. In 2008 she wrote that we had eight years left in which to organise our communities and economies to cope with the environmental changes to come. We are half way there. Certainly focuses the mind, I hope she has underestimated the time we have and the changes being made slow things down further. Time will tell.
