We did the final tally of our CO2 use for 2010, 3.7 tonnes per adult and 1.85 tonnes per child for heating, lighting and transport. Adding in food, and clothes we estimate a figure of 5 tonnes per adult and 2.5 tonnes per child. This is really with minimal influence from the Solar PV as yet, and the wood pellet boiler isn't in.
The UK average per person in 2005, according to the World Bank Human Development Report, was 10.4 tonnes, so that isn't too bad. The UK target for 2010 was 8.32 tonnes per person and the aim for 2050 is 4.16 tonnes per person. That looks like we are getting there, however, the world average consumption in 2003 was 3.8 tonnes per person, still some work to do. Hopefully, 2011 should see a significant drop with the solar PV and pellet boiler.
