With the fact that I am largely indoors, I have planted my tomatoes and peppers - peppers could have been in as early as December but never mind. This year I have calculated how many plants I am likely to need and have planted accordingly. Usually I plant all the seeds I have and then have a massive surplus of little healthy plants that I don't want to throw out, and there are only so many I can give away.
My other job this week has been the under floor insulation. To put this in perspective I am no lover of confined spaces. We have about 2 foot/60cm of space below the floors of which 12cm is taken up by floor joists. However, now I have realised we have no under floor insulation I need to fix it. Unfortunately, due to size, age and availability I am the most obvious choice. So I am getting on with it. B&Q have recently had a sale on with their 200mm recycled glass wool insulation - £3.00 for 5.5m2. If I were using standard priced recycled glass bottles or sheeps wool I would be looking at £7.00 - £8.00 per metre squared. This is some saving so hopefully I wil be able to get at least half of the insulation done at this price.
