What a week this has been. We were given some apples by a neighbour and made apple juice. It is lovely and fresh. We have used a small apple press in the past but it is very labour intensive chopping the apples and pressing them, not to say messy. I now have a steam juicer that does just that. It is made up of a pan with two steamer type pans above it. The fruit is cored and quartered put in the top steamer, water is put in the bottom pan and it is put on to cook. The steam rises through the fruit and juice drops into a middle pan that has a syphon to take the juice of. Very simple easy and clean. I also juiced the end of the last lot of greengages. We have been given another bag of greengages to work with this week. 
Yesterday I picked up a table for my kintting machine that I bought secondhand last winter. I am planning to start working with it once the dark nights come in. I am a bit worried anyone I have spoken to who has or has hads one says it is very frustrating to start with.
We have continued to pick beans, peas, salad, herbs and potatoes this week. The courgettes are getting into their stride. I have set off sprouting seeds, I had stopped over the summer as they were drying out too quickly. The salad in the green house isn't making much of it though it is early days yet.
This week I am hoping, if the weather is kind, to clear the carrot bed, and sow some late salad leaves.
