Last week - as I wrote my blog - we put our trailer tent up for sale. The plan is to sell it and the caravan and replace with a folding camper. This will allow us to go away at short notice and to travel light. The trailer tent was sold on Sunday and up lifted last night!
The caravan is still being emptied, I can't believe how much stuff is in it, it is like a tardis. Much of the stuff has never been used. I am sorting through it as I go and will do again once we have the folding camper. Hopefully that will relieve us of a lot of unnecessary stuff.
I got my tomato and onion seeds planted last week, I have ordered the last bit and pieces that I need seed wise and will need to get my potatoes in order.
The section of under floor insulation I spoke about last week has been finished and the draft proofing largely done. I have also hung a curtain over the older double glazed window that still needs replaced. This alone has meant that the livingroom now gets too hot at night with the heating and the fire on so I have had to alter the settings on the heating and change when I light the fire. Less fuel needed which is great. The rest of the house also seems to warmer, I guess it must be that we are loosing less heat in the livingroom and so there is more to transfer to the rest of the house. I am no further forward with the wall insulation. I tried to find a local source for a thermal imaging camera but not luck so far.
I have opened up the next section and got out all the old piping other than that of the decommisioned hoover system. Hopefully this will be insulated before next week.
Outside the ground is still waterlogged or frozen. Neither of which is any good for digging. We did however get a window at the weekend to put in out mulberry and apples so fingers crossed.
This week has been a good week for seeing the Auroria Borealis in Scotland. Sadly it has been cloudy but we have been treated to a wonderful display of very orange cloud formations related to the lights further north. Beautiful.
