Putting computers in an eco site at all may seem odd. Computers are designed to become obselete, facilitate consumerism and expose us to even more advertising. So why put them in? Computers are part of UK modern day society. They are used everywhere and we need to use them to access certain information - this blog for instance - and our children need computer skills to survive at school and subsequently in the workplace. So how can we provide the benefits of the electronic age, avoiding the down side.
I haven't found the ideal answer, however, computers can be bought refurbished - see Apple - games can be bought pre-owned - see Game - games can be swapped and taken from the library. With these options we can use the electronic age to our benefit, so long as we are aware of the advertising stream that comes with it!
