Holidays

Like children, holidays increase our Carbon Footprint. However, in this day and age with the high intensity lifestyle we need a break from time to time to keep us fit. So how do we manage this conundrum? It varies depending on our needs and our time of life.
For us we now have a convertible caravan, this allows us to travel, but isn't as fuel hungry as towing a caravan. However, it does need towed. Now(2012) we still have our tow car that we used for the old heavier caravan. It is a four wheel drive petrol Kia Sorento. What is Eco about that? It runs on LPG, which is a waste product, currently, from the fractionation of oil. This means at present we are happy to run it, but if we get to the point that LPG is driving the fractionation of oil then we would need to rethink. I suspect we will need to rethink our cars before that day comes.
However, as are children are growing up they are also wanting to spread their wings. With the apparent opportunities of travel we feel it is important for them to have the opportunity to learn about travel so they don't run into trouble in the future.
