Solar Electricity production from a 7.05kWp system
I intend on this page to show the electricity production from our solar panels in Central Scotland facing South East and South West on a roof pitched at 60 degrees from the horizontal. It will hopefully, give you some idea of the production of the system.
November/December 2010

The first week of production saw 50 kWh generated. Not bad for the short days of November with low light levels, we did achieve 3.42kWp on several days, about half the potential maximum which again at low light levels was great.
Then came the snow. The panels can't work through snow so we produced no electricity. Of interest the snow comes off the panels much quicker than off the roof, often in avalanches, so it is important to dig out paths allowing for this. However, the lack of build up of deep snow on the roof protected the guttering, which came down when the snow came off the north facing roof.
Our total electricity for the two months was 108.45kWh. It won't light many houses but it is a start.

2011
In 2011 we produced about 5780 kWh of electricity. I believe, from The Scottish Solar Group, that this is exceptional production, though interestingly it was only 10% above what our installer predicted. We will have to see if this pattern continues or if we see a drop off in production.
2012
2012 was a very wet grey year and widely accepted as having lower light levels. 3.68kWp gave 3120.725 kWh 3.22kWp gave 2341.622 kWh giving a total of 5462.347 kWh 38kWh short of predicted. We will see what 2013 brings.
